Really cool modern hotel, inside a beautiful old building. Much larger room than expected, with a nice private balcony, extra sink, sofa, king size bed. Excellent, higher-end restaurant and bar on the ground level for a date night. Afterwards, take the elevator to an amazing rooftop bar for dancing and city views (and cheaper cocktails). Great way to spend a 16 hour layover while flying through.

Great location in Casco Viejo. Good restaurant attached. Very nice rooftop bar, but if you actually want a table next to the edge for a great view- get there very early. (actually I think the restaurant and bar are more famous than the hotel). The hotel is ok, but not spectacular. The king size bed was comfortable. Room makeup service was good. The room was good size. The balcony overlooking the old city with looming towers of the cathedral nearby was nice. The breakfast was very good, ordered from the public menu. Mine was included in the hotel price, but often it is ala carte. They have an elevator to upper floors, which is good. For all these reasons, especially the location, Tantalo is a solid 3star hotel.

The Restaurant has fresh ingredients and a nutritious menu. The art and theme of the hotel is special. The security was very good, the staff and front desk personnel are folks you would like in your family. The location is easy to get to and has many interesting restaurants and historic places to visit.

The Tantalo Hotel is located in Casco Viejo, the historical section of Panama City. It's also where the President of Panama lives, so you can be sure it's a safe area. For this reason there some street that are blocked off, but it's no inconvenience at all. The are is full of restaurants, bars, hotel, clubs and historical sites. It's also a short walk to the "Hop On-HopOff" tour bus stop, which can take you all the way to the Panama Canal for an amazing tour.

This place has a character all its own. Murals in the first floor restaurant. Murals in the room. In the large suite there were three separate balconies. The restaurant was great for a morning coffee. The location is two blocks from Independence Square, which is a great central meetup spot if you know people staying elsewhere in the neighborhood.

Very spacious room Hotel located in the very (lively) heart of Casco Viejo Reception staff was really friendly The interior of the hotel is really stylish (although I would not decorate my own bedroom that eccentric as the room we slept in :) Breakfast was delicious

This is my first time in Panama City and Tantalo made it a memorable experience. The service is excellent everyone is friendly and so helpful. I truly enjoyed the views from the balcony in my room and the rooftop is not to be missed. It is a centrally located and one can either walk to many places or take a quick Uber.

I loved everything about Tantalo. Located perfectly in Casco Viejo, the whole place filled with lovely staff feels like an art gallery... The lobby, rooms, rooftop, even the stairway is filled with colorful gorgeous artwork - just like I have at home. Our bed & bedding was so comfortable I actually didn't want to leave sometimes, with a gorgeous balcony, great water pressure & nice lighting. I normally don't care where I stay on my travels, as long as it's affordable safe & clean. Tantalo far exceeds those expectations & is the first hotel that I've actually loved & been excited about. I can't wait to go back! Each room is unique & has a different theme, I'm thinking I need to try each one!

Perfect location in Casco Viejo! Walkable to all the tourist sights, good restaurants, etc. Super friendly staff, very accomodating. The room was a little noisy, but I expected it, and they provided ear plugs. However, if you are looking for a place to get a very quiet night's sleep, this is not it. The rooftop bar operates until 4am on Friday and Saturdays (and maybe Thurs?) and until 2am every other night. It's also an open lobby, which means you can hear noises from the ground floor as well.
